My 16 Hour Adventure in Vancouver, BC

During the past Canadian long weekend, a close friend was getting married in Vancouver but I had other commitments back home in Toronto, thus resulting in an extremely short trip to Vancouver.  I went to the airport in my dress for the wedding.

B.A.D. Campaign and Celebrity Sightings!

Last month I participated in ShoptheMag.com campaign in supporting in promoting Asian designers.  I have only a limited number of clothing items from Asian designers and limited knowledge of the Asian fashion industry, becase I rarely go to Asia (twice in my life only).  However, with the internet, Asian designer clothing are much more accessible.

I sent in the following photos for their campaign.  The clutch is from a Hong Kong brand Anteprima.  Their handbags are unique in that they are made from gimp string!  For a while as a kid, making bracelets out of gimp string was all the rage!

The Last Wedding of 2011

Just a few photos from my girlfriend’s wedding at the end of October.

In traditional Chinese weddings, the groom goes to the bride’s house to pick her up.  Prior to entering the house, the groom needs to give the bridesmaid a red pocket (money), which is negotiated at the door.  However, that’s not it – the bridesmaids and the bride’s girlfriends don’t make it easy and the groom and his entourage is subjected to various obstacles and games.

Vintage

For a wedding at the swanky Windsor Arms Hotel in Yorkville, this vintage-feel BCBG dress with heart-shaped bodice, lace skirt, and soft waves in my hair was fitting.  I considered finger waves, for my hair, but it was beyond my skill level.  I had another more suitable clutch in mind, but couldn’t locate it in my messy room!

Petite Fashion Challenge #8: Spinning the Favourite

This month’s challenge is hosted by Gracie of Radiator Sessions.

May’s Challenge: “Spinning The Favorite”
Many times we settle with a style and rarely venture out to explore new ways to piece clothes and style outfits in new and different ways. With this month, I’m hoping for all of us to venture out of our comfort zones to expand our styling skills.
Thus, the challenge will be to take a “go-to” outfit, put a spin on it by styling it in a different way but still keeping a couple of essential components.
If changing up the your signature style is too great of a feat or if your closet just doesn’t quite allow it, you can keep within your signature style but tweak a few items to transform your outfit for a different occasion. read more »
