The Clothing Show – Spring 2011

Runway collage_smsz

This post is long overdue, but wanted to get this out before the Fall Clothing Show this weekend! Most of the same vendors will be at the Clothing Show this weekend (click here for link).  Surprisingly I bought nothing.  I saw so many items that I loved, I was on a budget (of time and money!) and I couldn’t decide what to get so I ended up going home empty handed.  I visited almost all booths and took a ton of photographs, so it was hard to decide which vendors to feature in this blog post (and I didn’t want to write a novel!), but I narrowed it down to 10.

  1. Black Iris
  2. Compass Jewelry
  3. George Briggs
  4. Hart Boutique
  5. Lipgloss and Black
  6. Lou Lou Beads
  7. Mizdragonfly
  8. Stella & Dot
  9. Random Joy
  10. Featherband (blog/etsy store)

Overall, I really enjoyed the Clothing Show. All the exhibitors were really friendly, and everyone had such great items, I couldn’t decide on what to buy!

Black Iris

I love the jewelry, the designs are delicate and intricate.  I’m loving the gold jewelry and I love how the gold isn’t the high-reflective type, which I prefer for everyday wear.  Black Iris also has a collection called Woodland Creatures, which are hand painted brooches.

Compass Jewelry

Compass has a variety of nice jewelry, but one of the lace jewelry was particularly unique.  One of the items I wished I picked up before I left!  Check out the website and Facebook page!

The picture explains all:  hand painted t-shirts!  Check out their website for different styles and designs.

Hart Boutique

Feather earrings.  Big wow effect without weighing down your ears.  Also, Hart Boutique donates part of their profits to charity.

Lipgloss and Black

Lipgloss and Black sells a variety of items including clothing, jewelry, accessories, and purses.  Not only do they reuse old fabric to make their clothes and accessories, they also eco-friendly fabrics.  Companies that have sustainable practices – I like!  Bonus points for being green!

Definitely wins for best display at the Clothing Show.  I remember talking to the owner for a while, she was extremely nice!  Of course I love the jewelry too.!

Stella & Dot

If you haven’t heard of Stella & Dot, its a San Francisco based social selling company.  Don’t understand?  Think Avon or Mary Kay but for jewelry.

The earrings are so unique.

Featherband

Last but not least, Featherband!  One of my favourite accessories that I do own!  I have a few feather headbands and the one with the pearls.  Featherband’s designer Amanda is one of my friends, I swear she doesn’t pay me to write this stuff!

For those attending the Fall Clothing Show this weekend, happy shopping!
