Lookbook: Aritzia’s Wilfred Grey Silk Cashmere Cardigan

One of my favourite cardigans – this grey silk cashmere Wilfred cardigan from Aritzia.

Cardigan: Wilfred
Shirt: Wilfred
Jeans: JBrand
Boots: Michael Kors
Jewelery: Black beaded necklace – Nordstrom Rack, Pendant necklace and ring – Tiffany & Co, Bracelet – random discount cart somewhere in NYC

The cardigan is from Aritzia’s exclusive line, Wilfred.  For readers in the US, Aritzia is planning a full-scale roll-out across the US.  Read about it here.  I purchased the cardigan last winter and I love it! Why do I love this cardigan so much you ask?  Here’s why.

  1. It fits great, just like everything from Aritzia.  Sleeves are the perfect length.  No excessive extra space in the arms.  My cardigan is size XXS.
  2. The pockets are big.  And there are 2 of them!
  3. Its not itchy.   The material is 55% silk, 40% cotton, and 5% cashmere.
  4. There is some piling but for the frequency that I wear it, I consider it minimal.  Luckily piling is not too visible on the grey colour.  See photo below.

However this cardigan wasn’t cheap.  I don’t remember the exact price, it was at least $100, likely closer to $150 before taxes, can’t remember the exact price, and it wasn’t on sale when I bought it.  But it was worth the purchase.  At the end of the winter season I’m planning to go back to Aritzia and see if they have similar cardigans on sale.

The shirt I’m wearing is also from Wilfred.  Its also sized XXS, but I wished it was a bit tighter.  The length of the shirt is great, just past my hips – its hard to find shirts that don’t look ridiculously oversized on petites!

Close-up of the shirt.  I love the ruching details.

Is there a sale happening right now at Artizia? I haven’t been able to make it out to a mall for a while – I do like some of Artizia’s items but yes the prices are just too steep for me to swallow! Great investment on that cardigan though and the shirt is very unique :)

There was a sale during Boxing Week, but seriously..don’t waste your time. Only $5 off everything, I’m not even kidding. You DON’T want to waste your time lining up for half an hour JUST to get $5 off. For the winter clear-out though, the sales should be better.

The cardigan looks soft! Everything at Aritizia feels so nice, but I rarely shop there because of the price.

Jessy is right! Just wait for the half-yearly or end-of-season sales. I worked for Aritzia during Boxing Day before…yeah the discounts are pretty shitty!

I used to buy A LOT (too much) clothes from Aritzia….its so easy to shop there because everything fits perfectly! I would get thank you cards and invites to their presales. Not anymore though, I’ve cut down a lot now, trying to be a more conscious consumer, especially now realizing the amount of money I’ve spent on clothing and also realizing a lot of clothing styles from different stores copy each other! I still buy some clothes from Aritzia if they’re one of the following:
    1) really unique clothing item that I don’t see anywhere else
    2) awesome deal…but that is rare!
    3) items I consider long term investments on essential items, blazers, cardigans, etc.

…Also, I’ve gained a lot of weight since those days so I have more store options now! :P

I love Wilfred, and I recently bought two silk skirts from the line. Love to see your photos.

I actually don’t think the top should be tighter as I believe it’s meant to have that flowing look. If it were tighter I think it would not be so flattering on the hips and stomach area.

It’s great that petite Asians have the option of “vanity sizing” at places like Aritzia and Plen+y!:)
